Finally, after a long winter and a pipe burst that did major damage to Kismet Inn Bed and Breakfast Spa, I ordered my seeds yesterday from http://johnnyseeds.com/ yesterday. To my surprise I got them today well, that is what is good about doing everything locally. They are a local Maine based company that have been operating for over 35 years. My friend KD Vitelli introduced the company to me.
I went to Skillins Greenhouses online flower and vegetable seeds, plant lights, gardening tools, collectibles, garden gifts, bird feeders. and got some organic potting soil, label sticks to start the seedlings. It was able to start the following seedlings leeks, yellow round onions, white onions, broccoli, cucumber, cabbage, brussels sprouts, anise, melon, calendula, swiss chard, cauliflower, tomatoes, fennel, beets, sorrel, snap beans, savory. I have quite a few more to start tomorrow.
The beds are mostly cleared of autumn and winter left over leaves, the compost has been turned over, the soil has been tilled so everything is pretty much ready to go. I also bought some lili and other bulbs today which I will be planting soon. I am quite excited about my garden. Of course, I do everything organic so everything tasted incredibly delicious. I usually serve my guests different veggies from the garden even for breakfast such as cucumbers, tomatoes, make omelet with chard. There is so many different ways to serve all these wonderful vegetables. I believe gardening and cooking is a wonderful form of art.
