GUESTS HAVE TO SAY:
“ It is with devotion and joy that you approach each day. Although it is your work, what manifests is a sweet and simple song, true to the near forgotten ways that recall a softer, slower time. There is a quiet celebration of life here at your Inn; the vibrant colors, the warmth, the tastes of a knowing cook connected to the Earth, the clear, clean breath of spaciousness, and a voice that mirrors the songbird qualities of a peaceful morning sunrise. Thank you for sharing your essence. A house is wood and mortar, a place to rest your head, but a home is comprised of life and an energy that afforded by the walls and a roof. Your home is a true place of beauty, for its essence is reflected not only in its brilliant design, but the openness of joyous spirit that is built with your care. Much thanks and many blessings.”
Shadi and her husband discovered the city of Bath in September 2003 while visiting friends in Arrowsic and Brunswick. The discovery of this Midcoast jewel was Kismet. Shadi, who was educated in British and American schools, was inspired to make Bath, Maine the center for displaying the collections of her extensive travels in Europe, Asia, Africa, and the U.S., adding the fine art of hospitality to her many artistic talents.
Shadi & her husband purchased the 1860 Queen Anne at 44 Summer Street so that Shadi could articulate her vision of a place where Old World tradition meets the culture and art of the 21 Century in the simplicity of a bed & breakfast. While guests will find luxurious comfort in unique and handcrafted bedrooms, rest in all-natural bedding, and leisurely morning breakfasts of local, organic, and hand-prepared foods, Kismet Inn complements the traditional B&B experience with extraordinary extras. Guests have the opportunity during their stay to practice a tailored yoga session with Kate Nicholson, CYT, LMT or book a private massage with Kate Nicholson or Ramone DeRosa. Following your yoga or massage session treat yourself to a luxurious soak in a deep, Japanese-style tub and a full body exfoliation,
Shadi deliberately chose a small setting to provide guests personal attention and care so that they feel at home in a serene setting free from the distractions of electronic media. Once shoes are removed in the entry, the Inn’s open doorways, lead guests both back in time and forward in rest and relaxation. Games are provided, including an exquisite backgammon set, and guests can sit around the fire, or on the screen porch, perhaps choosing a book from the extensive library.
Each afternoon, Shadi prepares her special handcrafted aromatic tea and serves it with a pastry or confection of the day. Dinner may also be served at guest’s request using the finest local and organic ingredients of Midcoast Maine.Additionally, just across the street from Kismet Inn, one finds the Patten Free Library Park humming with the rhythm of William Zorach’s “Spirit of the Sea” fountain. Just a short walk, leads guest to the heart of historic downtown Bath, a multi-dimensional city full of book stores, antiques, specialty shops, and restaurants
